7 TREATMENT SYSTEM January - February: Pre-emergent spray for control of crabgrass and other grassy weeds. Spray for over-wintering broadleaf weeds including onions and dandelions as needed.  February - March: Additional pre-emergent spray to extend grassy weed control throughout the summer. Spray for broadleaf weeds including chickweed, clover and henbit as needed. April - May: Spray for late germinating broadleaf weeds such as fireweed and also crabgrass and other grassy weeds as needed. Fertilization to enhance root growth and early green up. May - June: Spot treat troublesome weeds such as crabgrass and nutgrass as needed. Fertilization to maintain a healthy green turf. July - August: Continued control of troublesome weeds such as crabgrass and nutgrass as needed. Fertilization to extend color through the end of summer. September - October: Pre-emergent spray for control of winter weeds. Spray for early germination of broadleaf weeds including onions, oxalis, and spurge. Fertilization to promote root strength. November - December: Lime applied to raise soil pH so next year's fertilization is utilized more effectively. Broadleaf weed control as needed. |
